Zungleboo® products are made with real plants.

We use a natural composite of natural bamboo fibers and a corn starch bioplastic called PLA. This "bio-compound" is free of BPA and melamine.

Bioplastics (biopolymers) are derived from plants and considered to be a far more sustainable alternative to the petroleum-based plastics commonly used in consumer products, such as PP (polypropylene), PET (polyethylene terephthalate), and PS (polystyrene). We make Zungleboo® products from bamboo and corn, two fast-growing, renewable crops. And from a manufacturing standpoint, studies show bioplastics result in 60% lower greenhouse gas emissions and use less than half of the non-renewable energy when compared to conventional plastics manufacturing.
We use plant based and natural materials for all our products. In 2021, Zungleboo® was certified by US Department of Agriculture as
"USDA Certified Biobased Product"  and is now part of the USDA BioPreferred® Program. This year, Zungleboo® has earned recognition as a BioPreferred Program Champion.
Zungleboo® tableware is not just sustainable, but also non-toxic and free from harmful substances. There is zero melamine or BPA and no toxins (lead, cadmium and phthalates) in our products. Third party labs test Zungleboo® products to meet standards set by FDA CFR21 and California Proposition 65.
